Elīna Zālīte Memorial House
Local resident Elīna Zālīte – a poet, playwright, translator, and prose writer – has left a lasting mark on Latvian literature. Elīna Zālīte is commemorated by a street named after her, and a memorial house at 24 Dzirnavu Street, Ape, where the writer was born and spent her childhood, and later returned to visit every summer. A sculptural portrait of Elīna Zālīte was unveiled at Dāvis Ozoliņš Ape Primary School in 1983 and restored in 2016.
