Ceramics Workshop “Auškāpi”

The Ceramics Workshop “Auškāpi” is located by the Smiltene – Rauna road, where guests are welcomed by ceramist Laimonis Cepurītis. The workshop has been operating since 2017; however, the title of Master of Folk Crafts was awarded back in 1982. The works of Laimonis are created using red and black clay sourced from the production facility “Raunas māls”, as well as white clay imported into Latvia from abroad, resulting in a collection of ethnographic bowls and mugs alongside contemporary design tableware. The ceramics are fired in a Vidzeme-style wood-fired kiln, one of the last kilns of this kind still in operation in Latvia.
