Lake Lubūzis
About the lake
- Lake surface area: 14.2 hectares
- The average depth is 5.9 metres; the maximum depth is 16.1 metres.
- Fish species include pike perch, carp, tench, bream, white bream, rudd, perch, crucian carp, pike, and roach.
- The lake’s vegetation is characterised by pondweeds, cattails, bog arums, bogbeans, and sedges.
- The lake is a European Union-protected habitat: “Eutrophic lake with submerged and floating vegetation”. On its western side lies another protected habitat – “Old or naturally boreal forest”.
Recreational opportunities by the lake:
- A parking area is available on the shore of Lake Lubūzis, spacious enough for overnight stays in camper vans.
- Swimming is possible; however, the lake does not have a designated, equipped swimming area.
- On a small rise by the shore, there is space for picnics or tents, with nearby trees well-suited for setting up hammocks.
