Rauna Castle History Trail

The Rauna Castle History Trail features various elements that illustrate the architectural layout of Rauna Castle during its period of greatest prominence.

  • Trail length: approximately 130 m
  • As there is no precise information about what the castle looked like at the height of its glory, the trail has been created using the landscape of Rauna Park, preserving the proportions and a sense of solidity characteristic of medieval architecture, allowing visitors to enrich their understanding of Rauna Castle in an engaging way.
  • The trail mainly employs elements from the bishop’s castle, or main castle, as this part of the structure is partially preserved and still recognisable in today’s ruins.
  • The trail serves as a continuation of the interactive educational trail (length: 150 m) located within the castle ruins.
