Riņģi Moravian Church Meeting House

The Riņģi Moravian Church Meeting House was built in the second half of the 19th century as a gathering place for the Hernnhut (Moravian Brethren) congregation.

  • It is one of the few remaining Moravian Brethren meeting houses in Latvia. Even today, it continues to serve as a venue for spiritual and cultural events. Supporters of the Hernnhut movement are gathering here once again.
  • The solid log building, surrounded by tall trees, stands out clearly in the surrounding landscape. Thanks to the care and dedication of locals, the Riņģi Meeting House was awarded the European Cultural Heritage Flag in 2000 for its well-preserved rural setting.
  • Riņģi Great Oak is located next to the meeting house. Once, it ranked among Latvia’s ten largest oak trees, with a trunk circumference of 8.6 m; however, today, only the remains of its trunk have survived.
