Trapene Larch Avenue
Some love the banks of the Volga, others the mountain cliffs,
I love the long, larch avenue,
Where once, with indelible ink,
In every drop of blood was written – Latvia.

About the avenue:
- The larch avenue is one of the most notable historical sites and natural monuments in Trapene Rural Territory.
- Stretching approximately 5 km from the Vidzeme Highway (Līzespasts) to Bormaņi Manor.
- This is one of the longest larch avenues in Latvia.
- Planting works around 1890 were led by the manor owner Tušs, while Latvian farmers and farmhands planted the trees. About 630 Siberian larches were planted, with saplings brought from Germany.
- 1903. In 1903, Baron Woldemar von Wulf drove through the larch alley for the first time in his new “Mercedes-Benz”, travelling from Atzele Manor to Bormaņi Manor.
- The road through the alley is asphalted, making it easy to reach other tourism sites in Trapene, including the local history centre and the antiquities museum “Fazāni”.
