We invite you to join the hiking event “Trapene Hunting Alleys”, which will take place on May 24.

On May 24, we will set out to explore Trapene Parish, where almost every road leads through an avenue of larches, oaks, lindens, or birches. This time, the hiking route will also follow these tree-lined avenues — from the hunting castle we will walk through the oaks to “Mikuži”, then continue along the bends of the Melnupe River to the linden avenue and the former cardboard factory.
After that, we will head through birch groves and across fields to admire the magnificent larch avenue from a distance, while another linden avenue will lead us back to Trapene, where the hiking participants will be welcomed at the finish by “Fazāni”.

Start of the hiking event: 10:00 AM at Bormaņi (Trapene) Manor.

The “Trapene Small Loop” will be 7 kilometres long, with the planned hiking time being approximately 3 hours.

The “Trapene Big Loop” will be 13 kilometres long, with the estimated hiking time being approximately 4 hours.

Both routes will be marked, and participants will be able to choose whether to hike individually at their own pace or together in a group accompanied by local storytellers.

Advance registration for the hiking event is required by May 21. Registration is available via the online form: https://ej.uz/trapenes-medibu-alejas
You can also sign up for the hike by calling or texting +371 29395200.

The event takes place as part of the hiking series “Smiltene Municipality – A Place to Discover”, in which a hike is organised each month in a different parish, introducing participants to the entire Smiltene Municipality.

See you in Trapene!
