Rauna’s Name Day will be celebrated with a vibrant programme
From 14 to 15 August, Rauna will host warm and diverse Name Day celebrations. Over the course of two days, local residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a special festive atmosphere where historic charm blends with outstanding music and the magic of light.
The celebrations will begin on 14 August with a truly world-class cultural event in Rauna, promising an unforgettable experience – internationally acclaimed opera singer Inese Galante will perform at an open-air concert.
On this special evening, audiences will have a unique opportunity to experience the artist’s distinctive and powerful soprano live – a voice that has captivated listeners in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls. Joining the outstanding soloist on stage will be the young talents she has inspired and nurtured, offering audiences a musical performance of the highest calibre and an unforgettable artistic experience.
The magnificent atmosphere of the event will be further enhanced by the beautifully illuminated courtyard of Rauna Castle ruins, creating an exceptional visual and acoustic setting for this special concert.
The celebrations will continue on 15 August with activities for all generations. The Rauna Art Plein Air will also take place on this day, once again warmly inviting the people of Rauna to take part and express their creativity.
During the first half of the day, a touching ceremony will honour the youngest members of the community and their families. Young festival visitors, meanwhile, will be delighted by the cheerful children’s programme “The Day Melts Like Ice Cream”, complete with a shared treat.
In the evening, the festive atmosphere will move to Tanīss Hill. Surrounded by warm lights and a romantic ambience, an acoustic concert featuring the band “YŪT” will take place there. To conclude the celebrations, Mārtiņš Kanters and Ieva Sutugova will delight audiences with some of Raimonds Pauls’ most beautiful and beloved songs.
