On 6 September, the “Palsmane’s Sparkling Apples” hiking event will take place.
On 6 September, the “Smiltene Municipality – A Place to Discover” hiking series will take participants to Palsmane for its 9th stage, “Palsmane’s Sparkling Apples”.
As usual, participants will be able to choose between two routes – 8 or 18 kilometres – and set off on a hike to discover various places along the way and hear stories revealing the meaning behind the name “Sparkling Apples”.
The small loop will introduce hikers to Palsmane’s churches, manor, park, the Palsa River, disc golf course and other points of interest. After covering 5 kilometres, the route will return close to the starting point, allowing participants to choose whether to continue for another 3 kilometres or finish the hike there.
The big loop will take hikers beyond Palsmane, along the surrounding roads, through forests, meadows and trails. Along the way, participants will discover unusual places such as Lidmašīnas stiga, Melnais rags, Kangarkalns and others.
Both the big and small loop will lead hikers to the organic farm “Kalnagrīvas”, where they can meet the hosts, learn more about the farm, purchase local delicacies and cook their own snacks over a campfire.
The hike starts at 10:00 a.m. at the Palsmane Culture Centre.
Pre-registration is required by 4 September. You can register using the online form at https://ej.uz/palsmanes-dzirkstošie-ābolior by calling or sending a message to
