An exciting weekend awaits at the BMX track in Silva.

On 19 and 20 September 2026, an action-packed weekend awaits at the BMX track in Silva. On Saturday, the 9th round of the “Crystal Dent” series and the Latvian BMX Cup competition will take place, while on Sunday athletes will compete for the Smiltene Municipality BMX Cup. These will also be the final competitions held on the Silva track in its current form, as the track is scheduled to undergo reconstruction after the event.

On both competition days, the events are scheduled to begin at 11.00. BMX riders from various clubs across Latvia will gather just outside Smiltene to compete at the Silva track over the course of two days.

The “Silvas Ziķeri” BMX Club promises a special competition programme on Sunday. In addition to the usual BMX races, the programme will also feature B5 and G5 hobby classes, Dip Dap races, sidecar races, as well as races for fathers and mothers.

This time, the organisers have also thought of those who will be accompanying the athletes or attending the event as spectators. On Sunday, visitors will have the opportunity to see a variety of motorsport vehicles up close and meet the athletes. The event will feature the 2026 Latvian motocross champions, young autocross driver Matīss Zvaigznītis, and drift driver Nikolass Bertāns. Powerful supercars and vehicles from classic car clubs will also be on display. A range of activities will be available for both children and adults.

The BMX competition weekend can also be combined with other events in Smiltene. On Saturday, 19 September, from 8.00 to 15.00, the Autumn Market will take place in the centre of Smiltene, in Baznīcas Square and along a section of Marijas Street. This means Saturday’s plans can include both a visit to the market in the town centre and the BMX competitions in Silva.

The competitions will also mark an important moment for the Silva track itself. After the weekend, the track will undergo reconstruction, meaning that 19 and 20 September will be the last opportunity for spectators to see races on the track in its current form.

For those who are unable to attend the competitions in person, the organisers will also provide a live stream of the event.
