New ticketing procedure for the Smiltene Town Festival “Salido Smiltenē!”
As this summer’s largest municipal event approaches – the Smiltene Town Festival “Salido Smiltenē!”, taking place from 16 to 19 July – the organisers invite visitors to check the new ticketing guidelines in advance themselves in advance. To avoid queues and save money, tickets are already available at a more favourable price.
This year, the Town Festival concerts and theatre performance will be ticketed events. For visitors’ convenience, a single ticketing system has been introduced for all three festival events at Jāņukalns Open-Air Stage. One combined ticket and the wristband received with it will be valid for all of these paid events:
-
Friday, 17 July, from 18:30 – a gathering of Smiltene music bands and an open-air dance party. Local bands “Apvedceļš”, “Sestā Jūdze”, “Tilts”, “Ceļojums”, “Palsa”, “Propelleris”, “Kreisais Pagrieziens” and “Pusnakts Brigāde” will take to the stage and provide the dance rhythms, while DJ Demyjan will keep the atmosphere going between performances.
-
Saturday, 18 July – the festival programme at Jāņukalns Open-Air Stage will feature guest artists. From 17:00, children will be entertained by a transformer robot show and the group “PERFAM”; at 19:00, singer Būū will perform; at 20:30, there will be a concert by the band “Līvi”; and the evening will conclude with a party featuring stage legend Žoržs Siksna and DJ Alexx Rea.
-
Sunday, 19 July, at 17:00 – continuing a long-standing Smiltene tradition, the festival will conclude at Jāņukalns Open-Air Stage with the Cēsis Theatre performance “Vasaras misija: sirdsdāmu opim!”.

Important: exchanging tickets for wristbands
The organisers point out that tickets will be exchanged for a special wristband at the entrance to Jāņukalns Open-Air Stage. This wristband will be valid for all three days of events – from Friday’s gathering of music bands through to Sunday’s theatre performance. It is therefore important not to lose, remove or damage the wristband. If the wristband is lost or damaged, visitors will need to purchase a new entrance ticket.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to follow the latest updates on traffic restrictions in the town and other festival news.
See you in Smiltene – let’s come together, celebrate and create the festival together!
