On 15 August, everyone is invited to visit the Smiltene Municipality Museum at Mēri Manor, where art, music, creative activities and a summery atmosphere can be enjoyed throughout the day. The highlight of the day will be the opening of the art and crafts exhibition “Patterns of Melody”, while in the evening Kristīne Prauliņa and her band will delight the audience with a concert.

The idea behind the exhibition “Patterns of Melody” is to show how melodies of Latvian popular music and the emotions they evoke are transformed into works of art and crafts. The exhibition will feature works by Latvian craftspeople, masters of traditional applied arts and artists, interpreting Latvian cultural values and beloved melodies through a variety of techniques.
The exhibition will be on view at Mēri Manor until 10 October 2026.

The event grounds will be open to visitors from 3.00 p.m. The day will begin with an atmospheric concert by Kaspars Gulbis, while everyone interested will also have the opportunity to take part in an outdoor workshop led by Magone Boleiko, creator and head of the educational programme “Nature Art School”.

During the workshop, participants will create wind chimes from natural materials – driftwood, snail shells, branches, reeds, grasses and other natural elements. It will be an opportunity to create a unique work of art and discover the world of sounds found in nature. The workshop is suitable for children aged seven and above, adults and families.

At 4.00 p.m., we will officially open the exhibition “Patterns of Melody”, while from 5.00 p.m. everyone will be welcome to explore the exhibition at their leisure.

The highlight of the evening will take place at 6.00 p.m., when Kristīne Prauliņa and her band take the stage. Kristīne Prauliņa is one of Latvia’s most prominent soul, blues and jazz singers. She performs with her original music group “The Soulful Crew” and is also the artistic director and conductor of the Riga Gospel Choir. Visitors can look forward to a high-quality concert featuring an emotional and diverse musical programme.

A refreshment stand will also be available during the event, so we invite you to plan a leisurely afternoon and evening at Mēri Manor.
