The trail leads around Niedrājs and its six little brothers – the marshy forest lakes. While hiking, you can see Niedrītis, Salainis, Mellūzis, Bezdibenis, and Bezvārdis, and relax at the picnic spot by Zummeris. All the forest lakes are connected by canals, which help maintain a consistent water level in the lakes. In a few places, the trail crosses canals, so be prepared to walk over narrow bridges, logs, or jump over water. Near Lake Niedrājs, there are several well-maintained picnic and swimming areas where you can stop, relax, and swim.

For information:

• The route mostly follows narrow paths and partly forest roads, making it unsuitable for strollers and bicycles.
• Waterproof footwear is recommended. While no marsh crossing is required, the forest around the lakes can be damp.
• Expect narrow and slippery footbridges and the need to step across small ditches.
