Step deeper into the forests surrounding Lake Niedrājs, and enjoy the calm and charm of pine woodland landscapes! The hiking route “Ravines of Lake Niedrājs” leads through ravines, climbs rolling hills, and opens up beautiful natural views.

• Length: approx. 8 km; the route is not marked in nature!
• Starting point: swimming area along road V244. Coordinates: 57.43135, 25.97495.
• The route can be combined with the 8 km hiking route “American Roller Coasters of Lake Niedrājs”.
• Several well-equipped swimming and picnic areas are located along the shores of Lake Niedrājs.

Important!

• The route mostly follows narrow forest paths and hilly terrain. Assess your physical abilities before setting out.
• The route can be completed by mountain bike, but it will be challenging, even for experienced cyclists.
• Not suitable for strollers.

 

This is not an official walking trail, but a route proposed by the Smiltene Tourism Information Centre. The route is not regularly maintained. When setting out for a walk, please note that conditions in nature may change – fallen trees may occasionally block the path, logging work may be underway, vegetation can become overgrown during the summer season, etc.
