Tilderi Nature Trail

Tilderi Nature Trail offers beautiful views of a picturesque river valley, the Tilderi Dolomite Cliff, ancient quarries, and the Giant Vireši Crab Apple Tree, the trunk circumference of which is nearly 3 metres. According to stories, a large apple orchard once grew here, but it was destroyed during wartime, leaving only a single apple tree intact. It looks most beautiful at the end of May when it starts to bloom.

  • The trail starts near Vireši Bridge. A spacious parking area is located on the opposite side of the road.
  • One-way length of the trail: approx. 600 m.
  • A small rest area and stairs leading down to the River Gauja have been created at the end of the trail.
  • During the driest months of the year, it is possible to wade across the River Gauja, connecting Randāti Nature Trail with Tilderi Nature Trail.

Important!

  • There are several wooden bridges and stairways along the trail.
  • In wet weather, the trail can be muddy and slippery.
  • The trail is not suitable for bicycles or baby strollers.
