Two hiking routes have been created in Launkalne Parish: one is suitable for families with children and those who enjoy short walks, while the other will appeal to lovers of longer hikes. Both routes are circular, starting and ending at the Launkalne Community Centre, and are marked in nature with red arrows on a white background.

SHORT LAP

The Launkalne Small Loop is based on the Launkalne Nature Trail, which in this route is connected with the Launkalne Reservoir, the sports ground, the Community Centre, the stone bridge, and other sites.

Length: 2,5 kilometres.
Surface: gravel roads, forest trails, and a small section of asphalt. The route is easy to walk.
Terrain: slight

BIG LOOP

The Launkalne Big Loop leads through a hilly landscape where dense forests alternate with գեղեցիկ rural scenery. Along the way, visitors can see several old homesteads, ponds and a lake for swimming, small rivers, monumental trees, as well as cultural and historical heritage.

Length: 17 kilometres.
Surface: gravel and forest roads, with trails in some sections.
Terrain: slight
Elevation gain: 192

The route includes the following points of interest: the Launkalne Community Centre (the former manor house), the masonry bridge over the Ruņģu Stream, the “Veļu kalni” Nature Trail, the former forestry row house “Vīksnas”, the private antiques collection “Lejas Kleperi” and the Kleperi Ash, Lizdole Lake with a public swimming area, the “Silmači” recreation complex, and the former ski hill.
